Only four group winners are confirmed for the last 16 in the new format of the Europa League, where both Napoli and Lazio are still in the running to avoid a play-off in the next round.

The teams that finished third in the Champions League are transferred to the play-off places in the Europa League, where they will be drawn against teams finishing runners-up in the Europa League groups.

The teams finishing third in the Europa League will, in the same way, get transferred to the Europa Conference League, where Roma are currently representing Italy.

Below, you can check out the status of the groups involving Lazio and Napoli and what the Italian teams need to advance to the last 16.

Confirmed in the last 16 as group winners: Bayer Leverkusen, Olympique Lyonnais, Monaco, West Ham United

Confirmed in the knockout play-offs: Rangers, Real Betis, Borussia Dortmund, FC Sheriff, Zenit St Petersburg

Group C

Upcoming games:
Napoli vs. Leicester City
Legia Warsaw vs. Spartak Moscow

Napoli will finish first in the group if they win against Leicester at the Stadio Diego Maradona, but the group is completely open. All four teams are fighting to advance in the competition.

Luciano Spalletti’s men will finish second if Spartak win against Legia and risk ending third if both pick up one poin, or if they lose and Legia don’t win against Spartak.

Group E

Upcoming games:
Lazio vs. Galatasaray
Marseille vs. Lokomotiv Moscow

Lazio have already secured a place in the top two but will finish first in the group if they beat Galatasaray in the final game. A draw or a defeat will mean the Aquile are going to the play-offs for the knockout stages in the Europa League.
