New signing Steven Nzonzi is not yet fully fit, so won’t be taking part in the match, but other arrivals could be in the starting XI.

“Many things have changed of the last 12 months, above all our confidence, so I want to start strong in a difficult away fixture like Torino,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“I’m glad to have choices to make, as we brought in so many players, so I welcome that difficulty. I like preparing for a game with more doubts than certainties.

“Javier Pastore and Bryan Cristante are both in good shape, so either one or even both could start. Diego Perotti has an ankle problem, so he’s not in the squad, while I am using Ante Coric in a more advance wide role at the moment.

“Nzonzi only had one training session with the side and needs time after the World Cup. Why couldn’t he play alongside Daniele De Rossi? They can be alternated or play together.”

Alisson Becker was sold to Liverpool and replaced by Sweden international Olsen, something of an unknown quantity in Serie A.

“Choices were made, linked in with many situations. It’s not easy to replace Alisson, who is perhaps the best goalkeeper in the world. Robin proved his quality at the World Cup, he is ready and he will start tomorrow.

“Many clubs below us in the table have reinforced, but generally all of Serie A has strengthened. We’ll see as time goes on if Roma have improved. Some important players left, others arrived, and I am overall satisfied. There is still time to sell some players abroad, as there are many of us.”

Maxime Gonalons is expected to fly out for his Sevilla medical, moving on loan with option to buy.

MilanGenoa and SampdoriaFiorentina were postponed as signs of respect for the 41 confirmed dead in the Genoa bridge collapse, but Di Francesco explained why it was only right that the rest of the Serie A fixtures went ahead as planned.

“We should play to honour the sport and heal together. If the games had been called off, many would’ve just gone to the beach or out shopping. In the minute’s silence, we can show great respect for what happened.”

Roma squad for Torino: Olsen, Fuzato, Mirante, Karsdorp, Luca Pellegrini, Juan Jesus, Kolarov, Marcano, Santon, Fazio, Florenzi, Manolas, Cristante, Strootman, Lorenzo Pellegrini, De Rossi, Coric, Zaniolo, Pastore, Dzeko, Schick, Cengiz Under, Kluivert, El Shaarawy
