“That is in the past now, we have to look to the future,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
“My thought is always that we can do better, even after victories. Nobody liked the performance, we’ll make a few changes, but I do like to have a versatile squad.”
There were some late arrivals on transfer deadline day, including Anderlecht striker Teodorczyk, Marco D’Alessandro and defender William Troost-Ekong.
“I am satisfied with the transfer strategy and discussed everything with the club. I think it is a young, strong team that can work day by day to improve. I am happy, collectively and individually, with the squad.
“Ekong is ready to play, D’Alessandro hasn’t trained regularly for five days, so he won’t be called up. Teodorczyk isn’t ready to start, but he will come along with us to Parma and could come off the bench.”
Parma also went out of the Coppa Italia at the first hurdle, losing to Pisa.
“I watched their game, which was more like a pre-season friendly,” continued Velazquez.
“They were in Serie B last term, but arrive with confidence and a lot of history behind them. If we play with character, I am 100 per cent sure we can win.”
