The ECA Executive Board has expressed its ‘openness to engage with the new Board of Directors at Juventus‘, while, according to Sky Sport Italia, Nasser Al-Khelaifi has already contacted the designated successor of Andrea Agnelli.
The ECA Executive Board meeting was held in Doha today ‘with numerous issues related to European club football.’
The European Club Association released a statement after the meeting where, among other things, they highlighted their openness to engage with the new board of directors that Juventus will appoint in the coming weeks.
“The Board was updated on the European Court of Justice’s Opinion of the Advocate General due on December 15; and expressed an openness to engage with the new Board of Directors at Juventus,” an official statement read.
Juventus are still not part of ECA after Andrea Agnelli resigned in April 2021. The former Bianconeri President was one of the principal architects of the European Super League, which was unveiled by 12 elite European clubs last year, but collapsed within 48 hours.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are also not part of ECA due to their involvement in the breakaway competition.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Al-Khelaifi, who replaced Agnelli as the ECA Chairman last year, has already called Agnelli’s successor at Juventus Gianluca Ferrero, who will hold the first board of directors meeting on January 18, 2023.
