Dzeko ended last season as Serie A’s Capocannoniere with 29 goals, prompting reports of interest from Milan, Roberto Mancini’s Zenit St Petersburg and Chinese clubs.

However, he told Radiosarajevo.ba: “The fans? Without them, our wins aren’t the same.

“My relationship with them is based on mutual respect and their support has been a great help during the season.

“You have to do your best because the fans demand it. It’s great to play in the derbies and I’m really happy to have tasted the atmosphere that exists in the streets of the city and in the stadium.

“My future? I have a contract with Roma and I don’t think the club are thinking about anything else.

“I’m happy at Roma. Now I’m only thinking about the national team. After that, I’ll go on holiday to rest after a really long and difficult season.

“Totti? He’s an icon, the Prince of Rome.

“Rejecting China? I don’t like to talk about the past, just the present. The truth is often distorted to speculate, for clicks, but the truth is based on facts, not lies.

“My life at Roma? Italy is very different from Manchester. Italians have more temperament, but I often walk through the streets of the city.

“When I finish training, I go home to take care of my family. My life has changed, now I’m a father and all I want to do is go home and be with my daughter.

“After football? It’s still early to talk about it, there’s still a long way until retirement.

“Now I want to enjoy the moment, the present, and I’ll think about it when I’m close to the end of my career.”
