New arrival Paulo Dybala will not take part in Roma’s pre-season friendly against Sporting CP today.

The 28-year-old agreed to join the Giallorossi on a free transfer yesterday, accepting a three-year contract worth €6m net per season including add-ons. Dybala became a free agent after his contract expired with Juventus earlier this month and despite it initially seeming like a move to Inter was on the horizon, Jose Mourinho’s Roma convinced him of a deal over the last few days.

As reported by Sky Sports Italia, Dybala won’t take part in Roma’s friendly against Sporting today because he still hasn’t officially signed his three-year contract with the club. Even if he had signed the paperwork before kick off, he wouldn’t have arrived in time to join the game.

Regardless, Dybala will be ready to make his debut for the Giallorossi in their pre-season friendly against Nice later this week on Saturday.

An unveiling press conference has been scheduled for August 6.
