Former Italy Under-21 boss Luigi Di Biagio could be set to take over Greek champions PAOK or the country’s national team.

Di Biagio is fresh on the market, having stepped down as CT of the Azzurrini last week after their European Under-21 Championship failure.

Di Biagio is fresh on the market, having stepped down as CT of the Azzurrini last week after their European Under-21 Championship failure.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport reports he could make a quick return in Greek football at one of two places.

PAOK won the Greek double last season but recently lost Coach Razvan Lucescu to the riches of Saudi side Al-Hilal, where he finds former Juventus attacker Sebastian Giovinco.

They want to make a swift appointment ahead of their commitments in the Champions League third qualifying round.

However, the newspaper warns the ex-Inter and Roma midfielder faces strong competition from Braga boss Abel Ferreira.

Failing that, the 48-year-old could succeed Angelos Anstasiadis as Greece CT.

Anstasiadis is expected to be relieved of his post in the coming days after a poor run of results and reported breakdowns in his relationships with several players.

Although Di Biagio would wipe the slate clean, Claudio Ranieri – the last Italian to take charge of the national team – was sacked after just four games in 2014.
