“I think that I can do a lot better and hope to improve day after day,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“Competition can be a resource for a team and it is motivating, as it pushes you on to do better than the year before.
“This season will be difficult and open, as many teams reinforced and I believe it’ll be tough to call who wins it.
“We’ve started the campaign well and I am also happy that I received an Italy call-up. The Coach shows faith in all of us, then it’s up to the player to impress and repay him for that confidence when given the chance.”
