Didier Deschamps believes Serie A is on the way back, and wouldn’t be surprised to see Zinedine Zidane “have the chance” to be Juventus Coach in the future.
The France boss played for the Bianconeri for five seasons in the 1990s, and was Coach as they won promotion from Serie B after the Calciopoli scandal.
While Italian football ruled Europe when the former midfielder was in Serie A, the post-Calciopoli era has been more of a struggle.

While Italian football ruled Europe when the former midfielder was in Serie A, the post-Calciopoli era has been more of a struggle.
“Juventus' project can help all of Italian football,” Deschamps told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“But Serie A is an important league anyway, even if the Premier League is ahead because of the superior financial means.
“However, some other Italian teams like Roma and Napoli are also returning to a European level, while big investors are also returning to Milan and Inter.
“The arrival of Ronaldo guarantees greater exposure for the league abroad, a bit like Neymar in Ligue 1.
“Of course people talked about Juventus before, but it’s clear that the marketing effect of a champion like CR7 allows you to reach every corner of the globe.”
Deschamps was also asked if he would consider returning to the Juve bench.
“The Juventus project is ambitious and modern, and I’ll always be fond of that shirt because it gave me so much as a player. I’m happy with France though.
“Zinedine Zidane? That position is already occupied by a great Coach like [Max] Allegri, who is doing a great job.
“Maybe Zidane, with his Bianconero past like mine, will have his chance. We’ll see.”
One of France’s World Cup winning stars, Blaise Matuidi, is a key man for the Old Lady, just as Deschamps was in the 1990s.
“They’re different situations, Blaise has a different role and is left-footed,” Deschamps pointed out.
“I talked to him before he signed though, explaining that Juventus is a great club, very organised, with the utmost professionalism in every sector.
“Matuidi is getting on really well in Turin, and that doesn’t surprise me.”
