Marco Delvecchio thinks the gap between Juventus and Roma “has narrowed a lot this year” ahead of their meeting on Saturday.

The Giallorossi are four points behind the reigning Serie A champions, and can narrow the gap to just a point with a win in Turin.

“For me, Roma’s squad is second only to Juve,” Delvecchio, a Scudetto-winner with the Lupi, told Mediaset.

“The gap with the Bianconeri has narrowed a lot this year. I see the title race as being open, even if Juve will try to stretch their lead since they don’t have the Champions League until February.

“Roma’s goal is to try and maintain this gap or shorten it compared to the four points now.

“The challenge from Napoli? For me, Roma have something more to their squad even if Napoli play the best football in Serie A.”

Delvecchio was also asked what his former side would have to do to get a result at Juventus Stadium.

“They must play better than the last two games where they were lucky. Against Lazio and Milan they waited for their opponents, but they risked going behind.

“They need to change that attitude because Juventus have players of impressive quality, they’ll need to raise the intensity to get a result in Turin, because as soon as you drop the pace Juve can hurt you.

“Edin Dzeko or Gonzalo Higuain? They’re two players with different characteristics, Higuain is probably stronger in the box but technically Dzeko isn’t far behind.”
