Danilo D’Ambrosio insists ‘obsession is better than talent’ and Inter must keep working harder after their 2-0 home defeat to Bayern Munich.

The Nerazzurri were realistically never in the game at San Siro, carved apart by the quick Bayern passing and moments of skill from Leroy Sane, who scored one and created the own goal off D’Ambrosio.

“We knew it was a difficult match, Bayern Munich are one of the three favourites to win the competition, but we played well and tried to cause them problems, we had chances and didn’t score, so if you leave a side like Bayern half a chance, they punish you,” D’Ambrosio told Sky Sport Italia.

What do Inter lack compared to the German champions?

“I don’t know what we are missing, just that with hard work you can achieve unexpected results. Obsession is better than talent and we must be obsessed with improving.”

It is another heavy blow after their Serie A defeats to Lazio and Milan, although D’Ambrosio has a different view on the 3-2 loss to the Rossoneri.

“We won’t give up, we are not accustomed to giving up without achieving our objective. Analysing the derby, we realised that we could’ve won it, but we weren’t sharp enough. We will analyse tonight’s match too.”
