Gaetano D’Agostino says he wants to continue playing for Siena despite the possible option of a switch to hometown club Palermo.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Sicily given that Siena boss Giuseppe Sannino is only an announcement away from being confirmed as the Rosanero’s new tactician.

“I wish Sannino a career full of success, but I am a Siena player and I want to remain as one,” the Italian told Sky Sport 24.

D’Agostino, who turned 30 yesterday, started his career in the Palermo youth ranks before joining Roma as a 16-year-old.
