Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has confirmed that Juan Cuadrado is “very close” to signing a new contract.

Cuadrado has been reborn under Maurizio Sarri, starting their last eight Serie A matches at right-back, despite being a winger by trade.

He has impressed so much in the role that not only does Sarri view him as a defender now, but he will also put pen to paper with Juve for two more years.

“It’s not completed yet, but we are very close,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia after the 1-0 victory over Milan on Sunday.

The 31-year-old joined the Bianconeri from Chelsea in the summer of 2015 and surpassed 150 games for the Old Lady last night.
