Juan Cuadrado has broken his silence after speculation on his Juventus contract. ‘At no point did I reject a proposal, because there were no negotiations.’

The Colombia international’s contract was automatically renewed when he made his 40th appearance of the season.

However, it was reported that Juve no longer wanted to pay the original salary of €5m per season, instead asking Cuadrado to spread the cost over two years instead.

That would mean a significant pay cut and the Corriere dello Sport suggested he was not prepared to accept it, a decision that prompted the club to put him on the transfer market.

Now Cuadrado has broken his silence with a message on social media.

“I am very happy at Juventus, at no point did I reject a proposal, because there were no negotiations. I have great respect for my club and my teammates.”

The response from the Juventus fans has been overwhelmingly in support of Cuadrado, if anything criticising President Andrea Agnelli and his directorial staff for trying to make fan favourites take pay cuts.

Cuadrado just turned 34 last month and has been wearing the Bianconeri jersey since 2015.

He made 45 competitive appearances this season, with five goals and seven assists.

  1. Cuadrado is numero uno player of Juve.

Juve Soule, loyal and most important player.

Just stupid management even joking at leaving.

i suggest them to start signed new needed player (at least 6), and stop reducing the squad before.
