The fixture list for the 2022-23 Serie A season will be drawn up on Friday June 24 ahead of kick-off on August 13.
Because the 2022 World Cup is shifted to the winter and played in November and December in Qatar, the domestic season must start earlier.
Usually, Serie A starts at the end of August, but this time around it will kick off on the weekend of August 13.
The Lega Serie A has announced therefore that the calendar will be drawn up on June 24, as decided by today’s meeting of the clubs.
Like the 2021-22 campaign, the second half of the season will not be a simple mirror image, but rather a set of fixtures in a different order.
There are 20 clubs in the Italian top flight, as Lecce, Cremonese and Monza have earned promotion from Serie B.
This will be Monza’s first ever Serie A campaign after an entire history spent in the lower divisions.
