Italian coach Antonio Conte has thanked fans after undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder, assuring he ‘can’t wait to get back on the field’ with Tottenham, but it could be a while.

The former Juventus and Italy tactician was diagnosed with cholecystitis after suffering from abdominal pains and went under the knife in London to remove his gallbladder.

“Thank you for your lovely messages,” wrote Conte on his Instagram account.

“My surgery has gone well and I’m already feeling better. Now’s time to recover, I can’t wait to get back on the field with the team.”

According to initial reports, Conte is expected to sit out at least four Spurs matches during the recovery process.
