Tottenham boss Antonio Conte confirms Spurs could ‘do something’ in the January transfer window with several Serie A players linked with a move to North London.

The Premier League side picked up a 2-2 draw away at Brentford on Boxing Day on Monday, December 26.

Conte spoke to Sky Sport Italia after the game, also discussing Spurs’ transfer strategy: “I am on good terms with the club and the President. We’ll try to find solutions, knowing that we must respect the club’s vision,” he said.

“The club want to do things by signing young players with sustainable salaries, such as Kulusevski and Bentancur. If there is a chance, we’ll do something respecting Tottenham’s vision.”

Reports in Italy claim Tottenham director Fabio Paratici has several Serie A players on his agenda, including Fiorentina‘s Sofyan Amrabat and Inter‘s Alessandro Bastoni.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly opened talks to extend the contract of the Italy international who Conte coached at San Siro.

Milan Skriniar has also emerged as a target for Conte, given that his contract expires in the summer and he hasn’t yet agreed to a new deal with the Serie A giants.

On the other hand, Fiorentina are expected to activate a clause to extend Amrabat’s contract until 2025, but an offer in the region of €40-50m could persuade the Tuscans to sell in January.

  1. As an Italy fan, I’d like to see Bastoni go to the EPL but there is something about preferring our players stay at home.
