Amid rumours of a potential return to Serie A and to Juventus, Antonio Conte said is in no rush to discuss a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur. ‘We will find the best solution for everybody.’

The Italian tactician took over in November 2021 and secured qualification for the Champions League, while currently Spurs are having their best start to the domestic season since 1964 thanks to seven wins, two draws and one lone defeat in the Premier League.

Considering his contract in London is only set to run until June 2023, Conte was asked during today’s press conference when or indeed if he will start negotiating for an extension.

“No I think my contract is not in this moment important. The most important thing is to try to prepare for the game very well for the period, especially the next two games,” replied Conte.

“We have to play United away, against Newcastle, who yesterday played an amazing game at Old Trafford and then we have a big match against Sporting Lisbon. I think for now we have to be focused and to have all our concentration on these three games.

“Then I repeat yeah, I have to speak to the club and I will speak to the club about this situation and we will find the best solution for everybody.”

Conte traditionally has never stayed for long in any of his management roles and has already put public pressure on Tottenham Hotspur director Fabio Paratici to bring in more reinforcements.

Since starting his coaching career at Arezzo in 2006, Conte has never lasted more than three years in a single position.

His longest stay was at Juventus from 2011 to the summer of 2014, when he was still under contract and walked away just a couple of days into pre-season training.

Since then, the maximum has been two years as the coach of the Italy national team, two years at Chelsea and two years at Inter.
