Under-fire Tottenham coach Antonio Conte did not report to training this morning as he has yet to return to England from a trip back to Italy earlier in the week.
Conte was spotted flying on a budget Ryanair ticket earlier this week, much to the amusement of thousands of fans online.
As per reports in Calciomercato, the 53-year-old is still at home in his native Italy and left his assistant Christian Stellini to take training with the players who were not selected for international duty in North London on Thursday morning.
The report claims that Conte is awaiting confirmation on his Tottenham future from the club’s senior management before making a return.
With numerous reports circulating over recent weeks over his imminent dismissal from the helm at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it seems unlikely that his antics will be rewarded with backing from the club.
Calciomercato also reports that the club and Conte’s representatives are in negotiations over a potential severance package in the event that he is sacked, which would likely total around €5m.
There are also several reports from Italian outlets linking the former Juve and Inter coach with a return to one of the top jobs in Serie A if he is let go by Tottenham before the end of the season.
