Antonio Conte was spotted returning to Italy on a Ryanair flight on Monday and reports in the UK suggest the Italian tactician will be sacked this week.

Conte’s contract in North London expires this coming June, but the latest reports from England suggest the former Italy midfielder won’t last this long at Tottenham.

According to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, Spurs are “expected to agree to Conte’s departure this week.”

The journalist confirms Conte has returned to Italy. The 53-year-old was spotted on a Ryanair flight heading back to the Peninsula on Monday with the video going viral on social media.

Conte blamed his players and the club after a 3-3 draw against Southampton on Saturday.

“I think it’s better to go into the problem, we are not a team. We are 11 players that go into the pitch. I see selfish players, players that don’t want to help each other and don’t put their heart,” he said.

“They don’t play for something important. They don’t want to play under pressure, they don’t want to play under stress. It is easy in this way. Tottenham’s story is this for 20 years. There is the owner, but they never won something. Why?”

Conte was appointed by Spurs in November 2021 and led Spurs to a top-four finish last term.

He’s won 41 of his 76 games in charge of the Premier League side and last week’s away draw leaves them fourth in the table but with Newcastle United and Liverpool two and seven points below in the table respectively and two games in hand.

  1. Told the truth about Richarlison, told the truth about Spurs, gets Spurs to 4th in the league, gets sacked. Harry Kane probably wants to go with him.
