According to the Corriere dello Sport, New York Cosmos owner Rocco Commisso – previously in talks to purchase Milan – is considering a Fiorentina takeover.

Andrea and Diego Della Valle are ready to move on after the rapport with fans hit a new low over the last few weeks.

Going into the final round of the season, the Viola could still technically be relegated as they go into a head-to-head with Genoa, depending also on Empoli’s result against Inter.

Going into the final round of the season, the Viola could still technically be relegated as they go into a head-to-head with Genoa, depending also on Empoli’s result against Inter.

It seems this has convinced the Della Valle brothers to put the club up for sale and it is likely the buyer will come from outside Italy.

According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, one of the interested parties is Rocco Commisso, the Italian-American investor who had been in talks to purchase Milan before Yonghong Li took over.

He already owns American club the New York Cosmos and is ready to invest in Serie A too.

A fund based in Qatar is also said to be considering a proposal, but this may well be the same one that has been linked with Roma.

It’s reported Commisso had targeted Fiorentina in 2018 with an offer worth €175m, but that the Della Valle brothers wanted closer to €300m.
