Chelsea and Atletico Madrid could hold the key to unlocking Napoli‘s summer transfer plans, according to reports in Italy.
While Partenopei have been busy in the transfer market so far, having signed Mathias Olivera and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while they also made Frank Aguissa’s loan permanent, there are still continuous reports suggesting big players could leave.
Former captain Lorenzo Insigne has already joined Major League Soccer side Toronto FC while there are question marks over the futures of Kalidou Koulibaly, Fabian Ruiz and Dries Mertens.
And Gazzetta dello Sport report Napoli are looking offload players before bringing anyone new in and that means their plans are in the hands of some of Europe’s most important sides.
The report suggests Chelsea, as well Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are interested in Koulibaly with president Aurelio De Laurentiis looking to recoup in the region of €35-40 million, despite the defender’s contract due to expire at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Atetico are interested in signing Ruiz, according to La Gazzetta. His contract also expires in 12 months’ time.

Koulibaly is staying. Lots of doubt over Fabian and Mertens
What are atleti going to do with fabian, he doesn’t fit their style at all…
Bury, regardless what they do with him – let him go and take De Paul off their hands. A more consistent player, though some of Ruiz’s goals last year were Incredible.
Napoli won’t be in top 4 next season, mark my word and they deserve it.
