Former Juventus boss Fabio Capello has branded the decision to award Inter the 2005-06 Scudetto a ‘joke’.
Capello’s Juve appeared to have won that season’s Serie A title on the field, before it was taken away from them due to their involvement in the Calciopoli scandal and given to their arch-rivals.
“It was a joke and clearly unfair to have assigned that Scudetto to Inter,” he said in the second part of his interview with Radio Anch’io Sport.

“The timing wasn’t respected and the rules didn’t allow for sporting justice to operate properly.
“Guido Rossi [the FIGC’s extraordinary commissioner at the time] acted too hastily.”
Napoli were warned against walking off the field after Kalidou Koulibaly was racially abused against Inter, so the ex-Milan and Roma Coach has a solution…
“Players should sit on the field and they shouldn’t be punished,” he continued.
“By doing that, it would help the fans who are behaving and want to watch football, while forcing those guilty of monkey chants to stop and feel ashamed of what they’re doing.
“Italy’s the only country where the ultras are in charge and the players go to greet them. We give too much importance to these people.
“Around 85-90% of the fans who come to the stadium are important, not these gentlemen with banners, slogans and power given to them by their clubs.”
However, Capello was more positive on the topic of Roberto Mancini’s Italy reign.
“Mancini’s done a good job of putting new Italian talent to the test. They have the ability to play for the national team, where they can take responsibility,” he concluded.
“You must be bold to make play them and now it seems that bravery has arrived.”
