Brahim Diaz admits he ‘always wanted to score a goal like that since I was a kid’ after the run from his own half to give Milan victory over Juventus.

The Spain international did it all himself, intercepting a wayward Dusan Vlahovic pass and sprinting forward, skipping away from Leonardo Bonucci and Arkadiusz Milik to bend back Wojciech Szczesny’s glove at the near post.

“I saw players score goals like this when I was a kid and always wanted to do it myself,” Brahim Diaz told Sky Sport Italia.

Rafael Leao evidently enjoyed it too, as after Brahim Diaz took off his jersey to celebrate, the Portuguese star lifted up his teammate to be carried in triumph.

“Rafa put me up there and I’d never felt so tall! I feel the Number 10 shirt is really mine now. I was so happy and emotional after the goal.

“I always want to help the team, my teammates care for me and I feel the same way about them. We are a very united group, we like to hang out together.”

There was a shift to almost a 4-3-3 formation this evening in the 2-0 victory over Juventus, with Brahim Diaz wide right.

“I had never played that wide, but the coach put me there and I wanted to do everything I could to help the team. I am very happy here at Milan, I want to make the fans happy.”

  1. A true WOW moment! Love the DeKet signing, but the time is now for Diaz, DeKet still not comfortable………WHAT A GOL!!!!!

  2. Maybe it’s good to keep Diaz in that position and put CDK in the middle. Anyway, good steal dribble and goal.

  3. Great goal!

But about time he did something!
I still think overall Diaz is good enough to be at Milan but would be happy if proven wrong.

  4. Been saying for ages either Diaz or CDK on the RW. Diaz is a great player who deserves more starts. Delighted for him and his performance against a big side.
