The Bianconeri ended an unbeaten Serie A run that stretched back to March 2020, as Federico Chiesa bagged a brace before Weston McKennie came off the bench to seal it.

Davide Calabria had fired in a temporary equaliser just before half-time.

“We came here aware it was a very, very important game, especially after this afternoon’s results,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia.

“We did well to control the game from start to finish. We created a great deal and only conceded after our mistakes. We knew Milan could hurt us with their counter-attacks, but we were solid and worked as a team. This is the spirit we need going forward.”

Alex Sandro and Juan Cuadrado were diagnosed with COVID-19 over the last 48 hours, so the Juventus squad didn’t travel to Milan until this morning after clear swabs.

“We knew that we’d play, so we were concentrated on the objective. We take it one game at a time, notch up victory after victory. This proves the team is still hungry,” continued Bonucci.

“Our objective is now to beat Sassuolo, that is all. We have to get a run of victories to become more credible and even more of a team.”
