Milan have reportedly agreed a new contract in principle with Giacomo Bonaventura, but face a battle with Mino Raiola.

The 27-year-old has been a key man in Vincenzo Montella’s side so far this season, and scored six goals last term as well as providing eight assists.

That return means the Rossoneri are keen to extend his contract, and Courier della Sport is reporting that an improved salary of €2m per season has been agreed, doubling his current salary.

However, there is disagreement over the length of the contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2019.

Bonaventura’s agent, Mino Raiola, wants the same expiry date, essentially securing his client a wage rise with no extra commitment to the Diavolo.

On the other side of the table, Milan are keen to tie Bonaventura to the club until 2021, meaning that an agreement is close but not secured.
