Napoli have made Sassuolo winger Jeremie Boga their number one choice to replace Jose Callejon, according to La Repubblica.

Callejon has been at the Stadio San Paolo for seven years, but his contract is due to expire at the end of this season and he does not seem any closer to agreeing an extension.

He had already begun to fall down the pecking order under coach Gennaro Gattuso, who is looking for alternatives.

It’s reported that Boga is the first pick, even though he primarily plays on the left flank for Sassuolo, as the 23-year-old does have the versatility for two roles and a much stronger eye for goal than Callejon.

There is plenty of competition for the 23-year-old, as not only do Chelsea have a buy-back option set at €20m, but Inter, Juventus, Milan, Roma, Arsenal, Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund are all in the running too.

Boga has scored eight goals with four assists in 24 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo this season.
