Bisevac lasted just half of last season at Lazio before returning to France with Metz over the summer, and the Serbian defender admits he knew back in March that his spell with the Aquile was already over, having disliked the club;“mentality”.

“I wanted to experience something new after 10 years in France,” he told Republicain Lorrain.

“Without going into too much detail, I can say with certainty that I didn’t like the mentality of the club. They were really badly organised.

“I spent six months living at a hotel. They have pictures of the great players who have played for them hung on the corridor walls leading up to the dressing room, but they’re not the same club.

“When one thinks about Lazio, they have another image in their head. I was surprised. I arrived in January but already in March I told the sporting director that I wanted to leave.

“In my head, I knew it was over. I played several matches, but I didn’t like it. It was a mistake to sign for them.”
