Fiorentina midfielder Marco Benassi said former Viola coach Stefano Pioli will ‘prepare well’ for Milan’s trip to Florence. ‘I think it will be a beautiful game’.

The Florentines welcome their former coach back to the Artemio Franchi on Saturday and Benassi, who worked two years under the current Rossoneri tactician, knows what to expect.

The midfielder spoke to the club’s official website about the Milan coach and said some of the players at Fiorentina ‘know how he prepares for the matches’.

Fiorentina are seventh in Serie A after 12 games and the Viola have a balanced record in the games against Pioli.

Pioli has won nine of 17 clashes with the Viola and has yet to lose against his former club since taking over Milan.

“He will certainly prepare the team well,” Benassi told the club’s official website. “We know him very well, some of us, because we had him here for two years.

“We know how he prepares for the matches, but our coach does too. I think it will be a beautiful game. The team that make less mistakes and who are better at taking the opportunities will bring home the result.”
