Hellas Verona and Czech Republic midfielder Antonin Barak thinks Simon Kjaer ‘should become the next Milan captain’.

Milan fans were calling for Kjaer to become the new Rossoneri captain and La Gazzetta dello Sport reported the club might give him the armband.

Barak agrees Kjaer is a great option for the captaincy at San Siro, as the Gialloblu forward spoke about the familiar faces from Serie A in the Denmark team ahead of their quarter-final clash at the Euros.

“I know many Danes who play in Italy, like Stryger Larsen from the days at Udine or players with great personalities like Simon Kjaer, who should become the next Milan captain,” Barak said at a press conference.

“Then there’s also Damsgaard, [Jakub] Jankto’s teammate at Sampdoria. I read that he is worth €40m or €50m, so he’s a player of great quality.

“It will be a difficult game against a tough opponent. This stiumulates me and I can’t wait to face Denmark, but I think we can advance.”
