Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio was at the Stadio Olimpico for Roma’s Europa League win over RB Salzburg, carefully observing a number of players.

The Nerazzurri are gearing up for an important summer transfer window, aware that the right reinforcements are needed to help them return to the Scudetto fight.

Simone Inzaghi’s side missed out on the league title by two points last season and essentially have no hope of catching Napoli this campaign, sitting 15 points behind with 15 games left to play.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ausilio personally attended Roma’s Europa League clash with RB Salzburg, keeping a close eye on a number of players in both teams.

He knows the Giallorossi well, with one interesting target being defender Chris Smalling, and was interested in seeing the work of one player in particular: Salzburg’s Noah Okafor.

The Swiss forward did not manage to impress against Roma, however, and the Nerazzurri are keeping focus on soon-to-be free agent Marcus Thuram.

Milan are also interested in Okafor, but are seemingly unwilling to pay the €35m requested by the Austrian outfit.
