Inter are reportedly furious with Milan for the way they’re handling the new stadium project, risking a collapse in the partnership.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the Nerazzurri have already made it clear to their intercity rivals that they’re deeply unhappy with the way that the Rossoneri have behaved regarding the new stadium, speaking to the press and public without taking a common line.

Recent reports from the media suggest that Milan are now seriously exploring the idea of pursuing a new stadium alone, something that has greatly disappointed Inter, whose president Steven Zhang had asked to meet with Gerry Cardinale to define a common strategy for the Populous project, a request that has essentially been ignored.

The departure of Elliott Management and the arrival of RedBird has changed everything for Zhang and Suning, who are now unwilling to wait indefinitely for Milan to make a clear decision.

Inter’s priority is to stay in the San Siro area of Milan, with or without their intercity rivals. Should an agreement not be reached with the Municipality of Milan, Suning would choose a different area to pursue their project, unwilling to stay at the current Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

  1. That’s very optimistic, Ferban. I’ve put a bet on that the sun will explode before the stadiums are built.
