Atletico Madrid are on the verge of completing a deal for Udinese full back Nahuel Molina, with everything in place now.

Los Colchoneros have been interested in the 24-year-old Argentinian for a little while now and their competition with Juventus proved too strong for the Old Lady, who’ll now have to focus on other targets if they want to pick up a new full back this summer.

As reported by Spanish outlet Relevo, Atletico had a breakthrough in the talks with Udinese last night and a final agreement for Molina’s transfer was reached. The 24-year-old is expected to fly to Spain soon to carry out his medicals before putting pen to paper on a contract.

Atletico have already agreed personal terms with Molina, so his transfer is only a step away from completion now.

Despite player for a smaller club like Udinese, Molina still became a regular in Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina team due to his strong work in North Italy. He made five appearances in their successful Copa America run last year.

  1. Dear Lord Juve – you scouted him for 3/4 of last season – but desperately needed a right back – as danilo and di scigilio both have been poor – Molina not even expensive – most like a 20-25m euro fee would be accepted in 3yrs payment.

Maybe he’s too attacking for allegri

  2. Danilo is good, and we don’t need to replace him. We need a defensive winger for the other wing, as Cuadrado might have a year or 2 maximum. Molina would have been a superb choice. Too bad
