This weekend’s Serie A schedule features a busy set of games and these Atalanta vs. Cagliari predictions look at an intriguing fixture. Visitors Cagliari are one of three teams yet to win a league game in 2023-24.

Atalanta vs. Cagliari odds

1 – Atalanta to win – 2/5

2 – Atalanta over 2.5 total goals – 31/20

3 – Total goals scored over 2.5 – 7/10

4 – Both teams not to score – 19/20

5 – Atalanta to win 3-0 – 17/2

Atalanta are yet to really hit top form so far this season, as Gian Piero Gasperini aims to put together a run of consistent results. Two wins and two losses from their opening four league matches of the campaign underline their issues over being able to stay on track.

But this weekend offers a chance to secure another three points, and potentially kick-start their season with a dominant home win. Gasperini’s charges beat Monza 3-0 in their only other home game so far this season and visitors Cagliari have picked up just two league points on a poor start to their campaign.

Three home goals against Monza, alongside five scored away from home, gives Atalanta an average of two league goals scored per 90 minutes this season and they could increase that at home to Cagliari. Cagliari have managed just one goal so far this season and they are unlikely to challenge an Atalanta side that should have enough to win in Bergamo.

Gasperini will be confident of picking up successive home victories and they are in a strong position to match the 3-0 scoreline from the Monza game if his attacking players click into gear.

With summer signing El Bilal Toure still out injured, a fellow new face has impressed in front of goal, with Gianluca Scamacca scoring two goals in just 160 minutes of league action. He will also want to boost the confidence of his squad, as they move into a busy block of games before the October international break.

Following this tie, Atlanta take on Juventus and Lazio before the window, as well as a Europa League trip to Portugal to face Sporting in Lisbon.
