It has been a frustrating start to the Serie A season for both clubs and these Udinese vs. Fiorentina predictions suggest that a close match is on the cards this weekend.

Although Andrea Sottil will not be too unhappy with the start his Udinese side have made to the new season, a lack of goals will be of concern. One defeat in the first four games is tempered by the fact that three have ended in draws – against some of the weaker teams in the league.
Now he will be hoping that the Fiorentina side that he faces on Sunday is weary after Europa Conference League exploits during the week. Sottil will also be very aware that he has one of the longest injury lists in Serie A at the moment and will be putting out something of a patched-up starting XI at the Stadio Friuli.
A point in Cagliari last week will probably go down as a good result when a few months of the campaign have been played. But Udinese need to start imposing themselves more if they are not to get stuck nearer the foot of the table.
Fiorentina’s start to the season has been a little better, with an excellent comeback win over Atalanta last weekend making up for the thrashing the weekend before at the hands of Inter.
Vincenzo Italiano has needed to move around his line-up this season after losing some players in the summer but the Viola are already looking like that they could challenge for a European place once again. Those extra games do take their toll though.
It could be that this game comes around a little too quickly after the trip to Belgium and that is why it might be more likely that it ends in a draw. M’Bala Nzola will be looking to get his first Serie A goal for the club though.

Andrea Sottil will still be waiting on news of ongoing injuries before finalising his starting XI for this one. But Enzo Ebosse may come in at the centre of the defence in an attempt to stop Fiorentina from scoring.
Vincenzo Italiano will also be waiting to see how his players recover after the Europa Conference League game on Thursday. But he is likely to still be without the dangerous Jonathan Ikoné and he will have a decision to make about who will lead the line up front. M’Bala Nzola could get the nod.
