But writing on the Sardinian outfit’s official website, the centre back wanted to thank everyone at the club.
“I could write a novel,” he said. “But instead I’ll just use a few words to thank all the people who helped me during an extraordinary six years at Cagliari.
“I want to thank the fans who have struggled and suffered with me.
“I want to thank my teammates, the club as a whole and my family.
“Now I’m off on a new adventure, but my heart will always be with you.”
