Aston Villa fans crowned Nicolò Zaniolo as their Player of The Match in a 1-0 win over Zrinjski in the Conference League.

Unai Emery’s side secured a late 1-0 win on Thursday thanks to a John McGinn goal scored at minute 94 at Villa Park.

Nevertheless, Villa fans picked Zaniolo as their Player of The Match on Thursday, as announced by the Premier League club on their social media.

The Italy international played 90 minutes as a striker in a 4-4-2 formation.

Aston Villa’s post announcing Zaniolo as the POTM was liked by over 12,000 people in barely two hours.

Fans continued praising the Italy international on Instagram saying that it is just a matter of time before the ex-Roma striker scores his first goal with his new club.

Zaniolo is expected to be called up by Italy coach Luciano Spalletti for the October break after making two appearances with the Azzurri in September.

Zaniolo was introduced as a substitute against North Macedonia, last month, but started against Ukraine at San Siro three days later.
