FC Basel striker Arthur Cabral has arrived in Italy this evening ahead of his Fiorentina medical tomorrow morning in a €15m deal.

According to RAI Sport, Sky Sport Italia and more, Cabral is en route to Florence and is expected to arrive later tonight.

The stage is set for medical tests on Friday morning, at which point he can then sign the contract until June 2026 at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

It will be a permanent transfer worth €15m plus bonuses, effectively replacing Juventus-bound Dusan Vlahovic.

The 23-year-old Brazilian scored 27 goals in 31 competitive games for Swiss outfit FC Basel this season, including 13 in 12 matches between the Europa Conference League and qualifying rounds for this tournament.

Basel are also making a more than hefty profit on Cabral, having originally signed him from Palmeiras for €6m in 2020 after a season on loan in Switzerland.

His current contract with Basel is due to expire in June 2023.

  1. Perfectly stated K Nawaz! Fiorentina existed before Vlahovic and will exist long after he leaves. We have a great owner, great manager and great city and supporters. The present and future are very bright. I’m glad Vlahovic has left this winter so we can stop talking about him. The team is fighting for Europe and all we talk about is ‘will he or won’t he’. He didn’t have the character to want to lead Fiorentina to greatness and chose to join a club that was winning trophies long before he was even born. When Maradona left Barca he could have walked into any team in the world but he went to Napoli and put them on the map leading them to glory. Vlahovic is weak.
