Dejan Kulusevski would be an ideal signing for Milan, as while Juventus clearly don’t know what to do with him, the Swede would shine both on the right and behind the strikers to replace Brahim Diaz.

The latest reports are growing that Juve have proposed Kulusevski to Milan, although much will depend on whether the Rossoneri are prepared to accept a loan with obligation to buy rather than a pure option.

After all, the Bianconeri invested €35m to sign him from Atalanta, when he was still playing on loan at Parma, and failed to get anything out of him.

Juventus loan Kulusevski to Milan after Everton rejection?

Much like Federico Bernardeschi, Juventus have messed Kulusevski about in various different roles and tactical systems, failing to make the most of his versatility, instead using him as some sort of stop-gap in emergencies.

While the 21-year-old has most excelled at Parma playing on the right wing, that is where Milan would presumably use him as a counter-balance to the left-sided attacking dominance of Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez.

However, Kulusevski has been saying for years that his favourite position is that of trequartista behind the strikers, a role where nobody seems eager to use him.

Considering Brahim Diaz has gone completely off the boil this season and sapped Milan of creativity or pacey attacks in the process, Kulusevski can bring a fresh of breath air.

He’d also be working to provide service for fellow Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic and be a lot less predictable than the Spain international, who seems rather one-note in his passing options.

11 thought on “Why Kulusevski is the cure for two Milan problem positions”
  1. I wouldn’t be mad at this at all, but I feel like Juve bought him at an inflated price (go on Atalanta!) and if the insist on recouping most of it that it will be way too much for Milan. I can see us paying no more than 25m, with it being 20m + 5m in bonuses, while Juve will probably hold out for 30m without bonuses.

  2. He’s 21 and he plays. Bernadeschi has had plenty of time and hasn’t show the glimpses that this guy already has. Salesmakers is an impressive prospect to me. Why give up already on him? His technical ability is high, and tho Diaz has come back to earth a little, he is young and very talented and has shown that he could potentially be a great player. That’s not to say Milan would be wrong to move here, as Leao could always move into the ST role.

But Milan should be focusing more on losing Romagnoli and Kessie for nothing, after buying one from Roma and eventually making him captain, and then buying the other one who has shown he’s a terrific player, and apparently a Milan fan.

  3. He thrives on open spaces and counter attacks.

But when teams play against Juve in Serie A, you hardly see any open spaces where he can shine. And he’s not as technical as Chiesa where he can still make an impact despite the lack of space.

I like him but selling him seems the best option to everyone.

  4. Ravanelli you nailed it. Juve best games this year was on the counter attack (Roma games, Chelsea 1st leg) however the majority of the time they are forced to play the ball vs 11 behind the line. He doesn’t fit that style and is not as explosive as Chiesa.

  5. He was excellent at Parma, but probably needs to be at a club where he plays every week. He might have been a top player if he’d gona to Fiorentina as part of any Vlahovic deal.

He might actually work out at Milan. Scamacca and Kulu could be an option for them now or in the summer.

  6. He would definitely help Milan at this point. I’m all for it. I don’t know if he’s good as a playmaker, but at this point I’m willing to try him in place of Diaz.

  7. He is good, he did best in coppa final with a goal and asist against atalanta in 433 formation with chiesa.

He is not given proper space and time by allegri but dybala is (was) focal point. For now

  8. If Kulu was to go, I don’t mind him going to Milan – he would fit better there with the way Pioli plays and Juve would get some financial relief. However, I can’t help thinking that with Vlahovic now in the lineup, players like Kulu, Morata and even Berna might play better with a physically and technically strong striker beside them. With Chiesa out I would keep Kulu at least until the summer to see how he goes in the new set up – if he shines then keep him.
PS – at least this time Suzy (‘Guest’) Campanale refrained from writing another anti-Juve article, but that just means the next one is not far away.

  9. Milan are only 7 points ahead of Juve and there is no reason that Juve cant catch them. So giving them Kulusevski seems like a really dumb idea! Would only do it if they can offer a decent player in return. Kessie for example.

  10. Kulusevski-a great creative talent-hasn’t been given a fair chance under Allegri-thats really strange!Probably other coaches would be more wise, and thats why moving would be good for his development/caféer.
