Alberto Aquilani has revealed how he wanted to join Juventus at all costs rather than starting again at a smaller club.
The 26-year-old midfielder moved to Turin on loan from Liverpool in the summer and has rebuilt his career after an injury-plagued season on Merseyside.
Speaking to the club's official TV channel, Aquilani said: "I only wanted Juventus. The Bianconeri quickly presented themselves once I made my desire to return to Italy known, getting in touch with Liverpool and Roy Hodgson with the idea of a loan.

Speaking to the club's official TV channel, Aquilani said: "I only wanted Juventus. The Bianconeri quickly presented themselves once I made my desire to return to Italy known, getting in touch with Liverpool and Roy Hodgson with the idea of a loan.
"I wanted to play. I needed to do it. Some people advised me to go to a smaller club, but I didn't want to go down a level. I wanted to take my chances with a big club.
"I wanted to get myself back in the game after a difficult year and a bad injury. Anyway up until the day before I arrived [in Turin] I was convinced about staying at Liverpool."
Asked about this weekend's lunchtime kick-off against Genoa, Aquilani said: "It was never a problem in England. Marassi is a tough place to go, but we are going there to win.
"Our conviction is that of playing well and coming away with three points. We are Juve. We have to do this.
"It will not be easy because any team that faces Juve has strong motivations. When I was with Roma the same thing happened to opponents, but perhaps a little less.
"When we faced Roma it was clearly a strange few days leading up to the game. My return to the Italy squad was just as emotional because playing with the blue shirt is the top."
Finally, Aquilani gave an idea as to Juventus' aims this season. "We will try and realise all the objectives. I can't play in Europe, but my teammates are motivated and ready to give their best.
"We need to honour the Europa League because winning in Europe counts. Anyway the objective this year is to end up in the Champions League and to prepare to play in it next season.
"Milan, Inter and Roma [are title contenders] in that order. A lot of people said Roma were in crisis. I know them well and they are a good and dangerous team.
"I believe that Lazio and Napoli can also stay in the hunt for the Champions League," he concluded.
