One of the most important duels in today’s match between Milan and Napoli is undoubtedly between Davide Calabria and Kvara Kvaratskhelia.
The Rossoneri and the Partenopei are facing off tonight in one of the most important games of the season, a match that could prove decisive in a tight title race this season. A win for either side would be worth more than just three points and both sides are fired up for the electric encounter.
As highlighted by Tuttosport, one of the key duels in the game will be between Calabria and Kvaratskhelia, two players who play important roles for their respective clubs. The Milan full back is keen to respond on the pitch after the snub by Italy coach Roberto Mancini, whilst the Napoli winger is continuing to shine after his arrival in the summer.
If Calabria manages to shut down Kvaratskhelia, Napoli will lose a key figure in their attack, but failure to do could prove disastrous for Milan, making the duel a vital part of the match.
Dodo of Fiorentina took Kvara out of the game beautifully and quite easily I might add. Pace is needed to control him, which makes me believe maybe Kalulu would be the best option to mark him. Another thing that could help is Saelemaekers on the right wing, and that’s why I’m not so sure it’s such a good idea to move him to the left for this match. Messias can’t defend, but a trio of Calabria, Kalulu and Saelemaekers is probably our safest bet to tame Kvara.
Calabria is a solid defender though, we’ll see how he deals with him in duels.
