Joaquin Correa is ready for the tough clash between Inter and Udinese this afternoon, underlining the importance of maintaining control.

The Nerazzurri have had a fairly inconsistent start to their season, picking up comfortable wins over Spezia and Cremonese but suffering frustrating defeats to Milan and Lazio. The Bianconeri have done even better, stringing together four consecutive wins heading into this afternoon’s clash.

Inter cannot afford to drop points to Udinese if they want to keep up pressure at the top of the table, with Milan and Napoli both looking hungry for the Scudetto.

Speaking to InterTV before the match, Correa first discussed the importance of today’s game against Udinese and what needs to be done.

“It’s a very important and difficult match, we’re ready and we’ve trained well, we want these three points.

“We have to be on the ball from the first minute, trying to find the goal and bring home the victory.”

He then commented on the battle with his friend Roberto Pereyra, who is starting for Udinese.

“He’s a great friend, but today he’s an opponent, so today he’s not my friend.”

The 28-year-old Correa has had a decent start to the season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in Inter’s opening six Serie A fixtures. He’s scored eight goals in 44 games for the club since his arrival last summer from Lazio.
