“I think this is our second solid performance after the one against Napoli, although last week we were more incisive in attack,” said the Coach.

“It was more difficult this evening. We didn't allow our opponents anything at all, but we should've finished off the game sooner, seeing as we had the chances.

“I am happy with the overall psychological approach, both from those who started and who came off the bench.”

Milan are continuing their Scudetto push despite missing key midfielders like Andrea Pirlo and Massimo Ambrosini.

“I think the club made an intelligent move during the January transfer window, which was a difficult time for us in terms of injuries.

“Mark Van Bommel is a smart player who already speaks some Italian. He plays in a very practical manner and rarely makes a mistake, giving a lot of protection to the defence.”
