Massimiliano Allegri has admitted that Milan will have to work harder than ever to finish near the top of the table next season.

The Rossoneri endured a mixed campaign last time around, suffering before Christmas before turning it around to finish second come May.

The Coach though, believes that he has the squad to put up a challenge this term, whilst also commenting on his future.

“I'm happy to be here for a fourth consecutive season,” he told a Press conference. “It is going to be a difficult season, but we have a good team.

“We will try to build on what we did last season, and that means bringing in a few new payers.

“We must aim to improve our League position and our level against the likes of Juventus, Inter, Roma, Lazio, Udinese and Napoli.

“It will be a difficult championship, but we want to do better than last season.

“Despite what I read I have always been calm about my future.

“After three seasons with good results, teams have made approaches for me.

“But that is normal, that is the market.

“My priority has always been Milan though.”

The tactician then responded to questions relating to Stephan El Shaarawy's potential departure.

“Stephan is a guy who, fortunately for us, has scored important goals in times of trouble.

“His level did drop, but that is normal.

“That is for me to deal with, but there are no problems between us.”
