According to Italian media, Fabio Miretti was among Juventus‘ best players against Roma, but coach Massimiliano Allegri is keeping the 19-year-old grounded in his post-match interviews.

Miretti is one of the most promising products of Juventus’ academy and has already collected three Serie A appearances from three games this season. On Saturday, he started against Roma at the Allianz Stadium.

The 19-year-old was among the best players on the pitch, according to Italian media, but coach Max Allegri wants him to remain humble and continue working hard.

Miretti was subbed off after barely one hour against Roma yesterday and the Tuscan tactician briefly commented on his performance at a post-match press conference attended by Football Italia.

“Miretti is a good young player, he knows how to stop the ball and pass it forward,” he said.

The Italian midfielder had had a good impact when coming off the bench against Sampdoria this past Monday and contributed to Adrien Rabiot’s goal, which was disallowed for offside.

However, Allegri warned the 19-year-old that he ‘should not run backwards’ as he almost allowed Fabio Quagliarella to find the net against the Bianconeri in the second half.

Allegri has often stressed that young players must be given time and that some are considered champions too quickly in Italy.

Miretti is expected to stay at Juventus beyond the summer transfer window, while Nicolò Rovella and Nicolò Fagioli will leave on loan. Miretti has already collected 10 appearances at a senior level with the Bianconeri.
