During his pre-match press conference ahead of SassuoloJuventus on Sunday evening, Massimiliano Allegri discussed the Neroverdi’s star midfielder Davide Frattesi, who has been linked with a move to Juve for a while now.

Allegri recalled the first time he remembered seeing Frattesi play and told the press he had been left impressed by the youngster’s ‘good qualities’.

He told the media: “I remember when I went to see him at Monza, a B match. I said to Galliani: ‘but who is he? This little boy running around the field’ You could see that he had good qualities.”

Although there has been no major update in the transfer status of the 23-year-old Frattesi, it is rare for Allegri, or indeed any manager to discuss a player employed by a different team, not least one who has been involved in heavy transfer speculation.

However, Juventus are not the only interested party in Frattesi, with Inter and Roma also reported by Calciomercato to be in pursuit of his signature.

Sassuolo are said to value their midfielder in the region of €25-€30 million.
