Former Juventus and Milan coach Max Allegri has ‘recharged’ and looks for a new project ‘to compete and win’.

The six time Scudetto winner has finished his sabbatical and revealed ‘it’s not important where’ he ends up next.

“I have rested, recharged my batteries and stayed with my family in Livorno,” he told Marca.

“It’s not important where, I’m looking for a club that wants to share a project and have the ambitions to compete and win.”

When the Spanish newspaper asked if he likes La Liga, Allegri responded: “Who would answer no to that question? Nobody.”

Allegri, who won five Scudetti with the Old Lady, picked up his first at Milan in 2010-11 and the Rossoneri haven’t won the League since.

“Juventus are built to win, just for this. For this reason, I think they can continue to win for years to come,” he confessed.

“Unfortunately, I think Milan are still missing something. They need a strong and consistent project. Changing the squad every season won’t allow you to develop.”

Inter forward Lautaro Martinez has been linked with a move to Barcelona this summer but Allegri warns that such a move requires ‘personality’.

“The Barcelona shirt weighs a lot, every player in the world needs personality to wear it. Lautaro has all the qualities needed to win, he’s doing very well at Inter. We will see if he can prove it at Barcelona one day.”

The Italian tactician doesn’t agree that Juventus didn’t do well in Europe under his guidance and pictures Cristiano Ronaldo staying at the Allianz Stadium for years to come.

“Zero results? I don’t agree. In recent years, they have done very well, reaching two Finals and suffered some questionable eliminations…

“I see Ronaldo at Juve for many years, clearly, yes.”

Allegri also admitted that Real Madrid had been in touch during his time at Juventus.

“Two years ago, there was contact, but nothing happened because I had a contract with Juve.

“I had a strong moral commitment with the club and the people there.”
