Massimiliano Allegri says the Coppa Italia victory “shook off Milan's doubts,” but he could start Antonio Cassano against Cesena.

“It is important for us to get back to winning ways,” said the Coach after Thursday's 3-0 win over Bari.

“We must earn all three points against Cesena, as it's fundamental to resume that winning streak. The team is ready to get back on the right track.

Although they are still the Serie A leaders, Milan have dropped points for two consecutive rounds against Udinese and Lecce.

“Maybe some will say we're in crisis, but we must remain relaxed and aware of our strength. Winning helps to maintain certainty.

“When you lose or draw, it can raise a few doubts. This should not happen, though, for a draw like the one at Lecce. We won in the Coppa Italia on Thursday and shook off those few doubts that had emerged.”

Cassano had his first start for the club in that game and could well partner Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho again, leaving Alexandre Pato on the bench.

“Pato has to stay calm. This season he is playing in a different way, plus he was out injured for a long time,” explained Allegri.

“Cassano may be a little bit behind in terms of match fitness, but he has already shown his talent and is an excellent buy. Pato finishes off moves, while Cassano tends to put others in the position to score.

“Cassano can change a game. We have signed an extraordinary player and he has to keep on working hard.”

There should be a new arrival next week, as Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani confirmed Urby Emanuelson will join from Ajax.

“He was one of our transfer objectives and I would be happy with his arrival,” added Allegri.

“He is a midfielder who can also adapt to the left-back role, but in essence he is more of a midfielder.”
