Paulo Dybala is expected to start on the bench against Inter, with Dejan Kulusevski featuring in Juventus‘ XI also for a tactical reason.

Kulusevski started only seven Serie A games this season, one against Inter this past October.

“Kulusevski has been at Juventus for two years and he understands what it means,” Allegri said during his press conference yesterday.

“He needs to make a further step mentally. That’s how the career of a player can improve.

“He has important qualities, he must find the maturity to play the games.”

In October, the 21-year-old was picked against the Nerazzurri to man-mark Marcelo Brozovic, Inter’s focal point in midfield and a key player in the build-up.

“Kulusevski played well, I had asked him not to let Brozovic play and he accomplished his task,” the Tuscan tactician said during his post-match press conference at that time.

However, it was a Dybala goal to help Juve take one point home in that game, converting a late penalty kick.

Supercoppa Italiana, Inter vs. Juventus: probable line-ups

Allegri explained yesterday how Dybala hasn’t played an entire game for a long time, suggesting that he may need to rest after remaining on the pitch for 86 minutes against Roma on Sunday.

The Argentinean is Juventus’ best scorer this season with nine goals in 19 appearances.

Kulusevski has been linked with a move to Tottenham in January, but Federico Chiesa’s injury has convinced Juventus to keep hold of the former Atalanta and Parma starlet.
