Max Allegri has confirmed he will “take a year off to recharge the batteries and take my personal life back in hand” after the Juventus dismissal.

The tactician was speaking at an event on leadership in Milan this evening when he answered a question on his future.

“I am going to take a year off to recharge the batteries and take my personal life back in hand, rediscover after many years the affection of my family, children and friends.

“The last 16 years have felt like being in a blender. You have to take time away from what you usually spend with family and friends.

“I’ll use this year to recharge my batteries ahead of the next season.”

Allegri is fresh from winning five consecutive Serie A titles at Juventus, along with three Coppa Italia trophies and reaching the Champions League Final twice.

He had been linked with the job at Chelsea, Milan, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, but has opted to take a year off.
